FAQ

Komodo Open Trip — Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the Komodo National Park entrance fee?

Rp250,000/person for Indonesians (WNI) and Rp400,000/person for foreigners (WNA). It is not part of the trip price and is paid separately at the park gate.

Why a manual transfer deposit, not an online card payment?

Because you book direct with a named, licensed boat owner — not an anonymous aggregator. The deposit goes to the Passohara BCA account, your seat is locked, and the balance is paid in cash at the dock. No agent fees.

I get seasick easily — which seat should I pick?

Pick a seat amidships (the most stable part of the boat) near the shaded indoor AC area. The front-most seats feel the most motion when the sea is choppy. Tell us when you book and we will help arrange it.

Can I bring children / infants?

Yes. Children (2–11) take a full seat; infants (0–1) sit on a lap. We carry 5 child lifejackets — so child capacity per departure is capped at 5 for safety.

Are dragons / mantas / turtles guaranteed?

Every animal here is wild. Sightings are very likely and common, but never something we promise. We go to the best spot of the day and put safety first.

What time is pick-up, and from where?

We pick you up from your hotel in the Labuan Bajo area in the early morning and drop you back at your hotel in the late afternoon after the trip. Your pick-up schedule is confirmed on WhatsApp the day before, and may be adjusted due to operational requirements, weather conditions, harbor traffic, or other factors beyond our control.

How late can I book online?

Online booking closes at 18:00 WITA the evening before departure, so the manifest and pick-up can be arranged. For last-minute, message us directly on WhatsApp.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety first. If we cancel for weather, you get a free reschedule (a 90-day credit) or a full deposit refund on request.

What should I bring?

Reef-safe sunscreen, swimwear, a hat, comfortable shoes for trekking, and motion-sickness meds if needed. Towels are not included.

Is it safe and licensed?

Yes. Passohara is a new-2026 vessel with full permits (Pas Besar, Surat Ukur, Operating Permit) and certified safety equipment — see the Permits & Safety page.

Is the lunch halal? Dietary needs?

Our lunch box is halal. Tell us any dietary needs (vegetarian/allergies) when booking and we will do our best.

How much is a Komodo one-day open trip?

Rp1,350,000 per person for the Passohara open-trip speedboat day tour from Labuan Bajo. The Komodo National Park entrance fee (Rp250,000 WNI / Rp400,000 WNA) is separate and paid at the gate. Booking direct with the owner means no agent markup.

Is one day enough for Komodo National Park?

Yes — one day is enough to see the highlights. Our full-day open trip covers six wonders: Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Siaba Besar. A liveaboard adds more remote spots, but a single full day covers the iconic viewpoint, the dragons, and the best snorkelling.

Are there Komodo dragons on Padar Island?

No — Komodo dragons no longer live on Padar Island. To see wild dragons you trek with a ranger on Komodo Island, which is the third stop on our day trip. Padar is the famous three-bay viewpoint, not a dragon habitat.

What's included in the Komodo open trip price?

The Rp1,350,000/pax price includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, the speedboat, a guide, a lunch box, mineral water, a snack, a soft drink, snorkelling gear and life jackets. Not included: the National Park entrance fee, a towel, and photo/video documentation.
